Emka Clay

My work is experimental; I make both organic hand-built pieces and wheel-thrown forms. I am interested in the clay's transformation; the journey from fresh clay, where the material is forgiving and malleable, to a fired state that is both permanent and fragile. These decorative pieces serve as a testament to that metamorphosis, freezing the moment where the possibility of transformation ends.
